Raffles Girls' School Symphonic Band
The Raffles Girls’ School Symphonic Band was established as a military band in 1965 and was one of the first 10 school bands to be set up in Singapore. It has since grown to become a full-fledged symphonic band of about 90 members. Since the 1970s, the Band has done consistently well in competitions such as the Singapore Youth Festival, National Band Competition and the Singapore International Band Festival. With optimism and enthusiasm, the band hopes to develop the musical talents in members while fostering team spirit and cooperation, thus holding fast to the band’s motto, ‘Friendliness, Humility, Responsibility’.
