The Yio Chu Kang Secondary School Symphonic Band was first established in 1965 when Yio Chu Kang Secondary School (YCKSS) was inaugurated. The YCKSS band started off as a military band and over the years, it evolved into the symphonic band today. 

 

Internationally, the band has attended exchange programmes in Brisbane, Australia and also organises music camps, and does community service.

The band aims to enrich its members in music education, discipline and team spirit. With the merger of Chong Boon Secondary School and YCKSS in 2018, the symphonic band unites the students through music making and continues to strive towards excellence in character development as well.
